MBK Electronics

Student-run electronics projects, prototypes and small repairs.

I'm an Electrical & Electronic Engineering student in the UK. I build small, practical electronics projects and prototypes while I learn, combining academic knowledge with hands-on experience.

About MBK Electronics

I'm a first-year Electrical and Electronic Engineering student using MBK Electronics as a personal brand for my projects and learning journey. My current focus areas include basic circuits, microcontrollers (Arduino/ESP32), KiCad PCB design, and simple repairs.

  • Build real-world electronics skills while I study.
  • Help students and hobbyists bring small electronics ideas to life.
  • Develop a portfolio of working projects and prototypes.

What I Can Help With

Project & Prototype Support

Help with simple circuits, breadboard prototypes, and basic microcontroller projects for students and hobbyists.

Basic Repairs & Diagnostics

Initial checks and small fixes for simple electronic devices (e.g. power issues, connectors, basic soldering).

Learning & Documentation

Clear explanations, diagrams, and beginner-friendly notes as I learn – ideal for students who want to understand the basics.

MBK Electronics is run by a student engineer. I focus on small-scale, educational and prototype work only.

Projects

LED lights and electronic components

LED Pattern Controller (Arduino)

A programmable LED controller that creates custom light patterns. Practised PWM control and timing functions using Arduino Uno.

Arduino LEDs C++
Temperature sensor and display

Temperature Sensor Logger

IoT device that logs temperature data to an SD card and displays real-time readings. Solved the need for simple environmental monitoring.

ESP32 DHT22 SD Card
PCB design on computer screen

Simple Power Supply Board (KiCad)

Custom PCB design for a regulated 5V/3.3V power supply. Practised schematic capture, PCB layout, and component selection in KiCad.

KiCad PCB Design Voltage Regulator
Motion sensor device

Ultrasonic Distance Meter

Portable device that measures distance using ultrasonic sensors and displays results on an LCD. Developed for basic robotics applications.

Arduino HC-SR04 LCD Display

Easy to extend: Duplicate a project-card div to add new projects!

How I Work

1

Discuss the Idea

You tell me what you're trying to build or fix. We'll have a simple conversation about your goals and requirements.

2

Plan a Simple Approach

We agree on a small, realistic next step with clear deliverables, timeline, and learning objectives.

3

Build, Test, and Share

I prototype, document, and share what I've done with clear explanations of the process and results.

Because I'm still learning, I prioritise small, clear projects where I can deliver value and gain experience.
